Shake, Rattle and Goal

Halloween charity

What do ghosts, cemetaries and scary spooks have in common? (You guessed wrong if you said “a Stephen King novel”). The answer is, of course, “Halloween.” On Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5 pm–8:30 pm, the fifth annual Halloween Charity Event will take place at the Buchendorfer Sportsplatz on Neurieder Strasse. Children—donning their favorite frightening costumes—will be taken for a haunted hayride. Those who return unscathed may take part in a trick or treat scavenger hunt, replete with maps and sugary rewards. During the event, the St. Nikolas foundation, a Munich based charity organization, will collect new, unwrapped toys to be delivered to orphanages and children’s hospitals in Poland for Christmas. Those who wish to join in the freaky festivities should contact Shari Kermer, by October 15, at (089) 89 30 98 34. And don’t forget to bring a flashlight—organizers promise it will be one dark and creepy night.
