Opera in the Pool

September 1–September 14:
The ensemble Opera Incognita will present an extraordinary performance of Mozart's ''Idomeneo'' in the Müller'sches Volksbad.

Opera Incognita 276x

In 1781, "Idomeneo" celebrated its world premiere in Munich and the piece has experienced innumerous interpretations by stage directors from all over the world since then. Nevertheless, it is quite likely that the upcoming production of Opera Incognita  will belong to one of the most unique performances that have been staged so far. Leaving the city's conventional theaters behind, the Opera Incognita ensemble will move to the Ladies' Pool of the Müller'sches Volksbad to recount the story of King Idomeneo and his fateful deal with the sea god Poseidon. The audience is recommended to wear light summer clothing to the performance. Tickets cost € 29–€ 39 and can be bought in advance by calling (09421) 33 631.
