Domestic Bliss

With the biggest annual shopping season just around the corner, the Heim+Handwerk sales exhibition, considered to be Munich’s largest shopping mall, will help fulfill those Christmas wishes. Some 1,200 exhibitors from more than 27 countries will be offering everything from home appliances to home design—both interior and exterior, including swimming pools and gardens—along with arts and crafts, information and consulting stands. At living workshops craftsmen from various trades will demonstrate their skills on site. And for those interested in environmentally friendly ways of living, you can obtain first-hand information at the bionale, where -organic architecture, energy, heating, air conditioning and gardening are on offer. While the designale section fascinates with creative, futuristic ideas for home design, “LIVING YOUNG” recalls the retro furniture of the 1970s. “Heim+Handwerk: Building, Furnishing, Living” runs from Mon. to Fri. 10 am to 6 pm; Sat. to Sun., 9 am to 6 pm in the New Munich Trade Fair Center M.O.C. from November 29 until December 7. Admission fees range from € 5 for students and afternoon-only tickets to € 10 for all day, which includes admission to the International Model Railway Exhibition. Tickets can be reserved at one of more than 150 MVV kiosks, ADAC outlets in southern Bavaria or at the DER travel agency at Munich’s central railway station as well as online, at www.ghm.de.
