The First Supper
Though it’s never the same as celebrating at home with the family,
for Americans living here who want
to enjoy a good Thanksgiving dinner there are some excellent venues around Munich, which will provide turkey and all the trimmings. Piazza Linda in Schwabing (Elisabethstr. 12, Tel. [089] 27 27 22 01) offers a dinner and live American music from the 1960s and 1970s at € 23 per person in a cozy environment on November 27. Friendly Edison and Co. (Schulstr. 28, Tel. [089] 13 03 93 93) will be serving a variety of Thanksgiving meals between Wednesday 26 and Saturday 29 starting at a very reasonable € 12.70 for an all-you-can-eat dinner. Munich’s Hard Rock Café (Platzl 1 [089] 242 94 90) offers a turkey dish all day on November 27.
And last but definitely not least, the Marriott Hotel Munich (Berliner Strasse 93,
Tel. [089] 36 00 28 62) are cooking up a storm for Thanksgiving. Visit either Champions, the American Sports Bar and Restaurant, for a Thanksgiving dinner buffet starting at
6:30 pm for € 25 per person, including an aperitif, or to the smart California Grill, where a huge variety of American favorites dishes are on offer. You will pay € 38 per person and receive a free glass of Prosecco on arrival. The feasting beings at 6:30 pm on November 27. In each case it is recommended that you make reservations in advance.
