Regional Highlights

A great way to explore Bavaria under the summer sun is on two wheels. Whether a day trip or for a long weekend, all plans can be made at www.bayerninfo.de. Click on “Bayernnetz für Radler,” where everything for arranging your journey can be found from starting points to final destinations, with distances, route conditions (e.g. uphill, unpaved, etc.) and more than 1,000 links to sightseeing sites in the area, including castles, museums, lakes, accommodation and town/city information. Detailed maps for each region are shown as well as information on how and where a bike can be taken on the train—for free on many routes—enabling you to travel further afield, or give your legs a rest on the way home. With nearly 101 bike tours covering nearly 8,000 km, there is hardly a corner of Bavaria that can’t be reached by bicycle. Receive a free, full-color, detailed map of the bike routes in Bavaria to take along on your adventure by clicking on “Kartenbestellung.” Another tip for nature lovers is www.tournatur.bayern.de, where you’ll find among other events during the Bayern Tour Natur (Thursday, May 29, to Sunday, June 1) arranged bicycle tours throughout Bavaria.
