Don’t Tax Yourself

In order to help you meet the April 15 tax deadline (automatic extension until June 15 for Americans living in Europe) the successful VECTA (Volunteer Embassy and Consulate Tax Assistance) program is offering tax assistance to US citizens, at the US consulate in Munich. Residents of Munich who are interested in receiving tax assistance from the VECTA volunteers can contact a program representative directly: send an Email to VECTAMunich@state.gov or call (089) 28 88 567 weekdays from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm to schedule an appointment. Overseas filers can also contact the IRS Customer Assistance Office in Philadelphia—where tax assistants trained in foreign issues answer questions—by calling (001) 215 516 2000 or faxing to (001) 215 516 2555 (both long-distance numbers to the US). If you need US tax forms, they can be downloaded at www.irs.gov, where you will also find answers to commonly asked tax questions.
