Das Schloss

Munich’s Olympic park is not a location we generally associate with good food and high culture—a place to see a football match or walk the dog maybe, but dinner and an evening of Shakespeare? Well, all that’s changed now that the Schlosszelt has arrived. Simply known as Das Schloss, this huge white pavilion, which opened in May, offers a constantly changing program of drama, comedy, cabaret and music. Das Schloss is even available for private functions (€ 3,800 a day, food and drinks not included). In a smaller, adjacent marquee, the Kunst & Bar team will look after your gastronomic needs. Have a quiet lunch before strolling through the park, or enjoy a light meal before taking in some entertainment next door. There is a small beer garden, too—the perfect place for a drink when Tollwood gets too crowded. Das Schloss is situated just inside the Olympic Park at Schwere-Reiter-Strasse 15. For information on the theater program visit the Web site www.schlosszelt.de or call (089) 30 76 70 49.
