Stands, Tents and Carousels:
1,398 entertainment companies and restaurateurs applied for places at the Oktoberfest.
650 received permission.
Among those, are 362 marketers, 200 showmen and 64 breweries and restaurateurs.
The biggest tent is owned by Hofbräu (10,000 seats), the smallest is the Eiscafé Clark, with space for 30 visitors. There will be 14 merry-go-rounds, 4 scooters, 3 haunted houses, 5 roller coasters and many other attractions.

New Ride:
Fighter: an ultra-hardcore merry-go-round with a gondola suspended on chains.

New Snack Bar/Small Tent:
For the first time since 1900 the “Nürnberger Bratwurst Glöckl” will return to the Oktoberfest. Eat your Bratwurst in a tent decorated in the style of the turn of the century.

Events: Saturday, 16. 09, 11:00:
Opening parade. Festive carriages transport the restaurateurs, their families and beer barrels to the fairgrounds. Begins on Sonnenstrasse.
12:00: Official opening, when the first keg is tapped by the mayor, in the Schottenhamelzelt.
20:00: Folklore International. Dances and traditions from all over the world. In the Circus-Krone-Bau.
Sunday, 17. 09, 10:00: Costume and marksman parade to the Oktoberfest. Some 7,000 participants wearing traditional costumes from Bavaria and all over the world. Parade starts at the Siegestor in Schwabing and lasts for about two and a half hours. In the evening, a firework display will be staged.
Tuesday, 19.09, 12:00–18:00: First family day at the Oktoberfest. Children (up to 14, sometimes up to 16, years of age) pay reduced prices for rides and food.
Thursday, 21.09, 10:00: Ecumenical Oktoberfest Service in the Hippodrom.
Brass bands meet at the foot of the Bavaria statue. Some 300 musicians will play popular tunes and marches.
Tuesday, 26.09, 12:00–18:00: Second family day.
Sunday, 01.10, 12:00: Gun salute at the Bavaria statue to honor the winners of the Bavarian marksman championships.
Tuesday 03.10: Parade of the Bavarian Marksman Club. Some 6,000 participants from 4,700 branches of the club will march from the city center to Theresienwiese.

Beer Prices: Between DM 11.20 and DM 12.60 (!) per Mass (liter).
