Soap: The Show

Television never killed vaudeville, a new show aims to prove. After ten months in Berlin, Soap: The Show will continue on in Munich at the Deutsches Theater. In modernizing a pre-24-hour-broadcasting form of entertainment, directors Markus Pabst und Maximilian Rambaek move beyond the traditional variety show format and mix up various types of singing, dancing and acting. For example, an opera singer will perform amidst jugglers and aerialists. The diverse performances also will be united by an unusual thematic element hinted at in the name: bathtubs spread across the stage, allotted to individual artists who take a dip at turns comic, daring or romantic. Soap: The Show will be playing from May 2 to May 18, and tickets cost € 24–54, so get there before the bubble bursts. <<<
