Verzaubert

Internationales Queer Filmfestival #17

The 17th annual verzaubert film festival will present movies that challenge the heteronormative status quo by portraying alternative human love relations and identities. With more than 60 contributions by international filmmakers, the festival will provide an overview of the manifold trends in queer cinema. The festival will open on April 2 with the drama Savage Grace, a film adaptation of a novel by Natalie Robins starring Julianne Moore. On April 9—the closing night—the tragic comedy Les Chansons D’Amour by Christophe Honoré will recount the emotional roller coaster story of a ménage à trois between a man and two women in Paris. Another highlight will be the showing of the black and white film debut Mala Noche (1985) by the controversial American director Gus van Sant. Single tickets for all films cost € 8, but a full festival ticket is available for € 125. The festival will take place at the City & Atelier movie theaters (Sonnenstr. 12).
