Bon Voyage!

The distance between Munich and Paris has become even shorter these days, as the French high-speed TGV train now connects the two cities in six hours and fourteen minutes. The TGV departs daily at 6:20 am from Hauptbahnhof and reaches Gare de l’Est at noon. The departure from Paris is scheduled at 3:24 pm. It is not modern German construction, however, that speeds up the trip to the world’s most romantic city: Passing through the Swabian Mountains, TGV is only allowed to crawl along at ridiculous 60 kilometers an hour. Thanks only to rail improvements in East France can the train make up time, by accelerating up to 320 kilometers per hour. Improvements on the German side are planned for the future. Until then, the six-hour journey through the beautiful landscapes of Baden-Württemberg and Alsace will be as romantic as the final destination. <<<
