Fraunhofer/Theater im Fraunhofer: This restaurant has simple food with great quality and reasonable prices. After a meal, head to the theater to enjoy an eclectic mix of performances in a great ambience. Occasionally, the Munich Irish Folk performers run fantastic concert evenings there. Dog Walking along Hachinger Bach: This very old stream in southeast Munich is the topic of many mysterious legends. It runs from Oberhaching to Ramersdorf, where it disappears underground before reappearing to run into the Hüllgraben. It dries up every 7 years and no one knows why.

Tara Whiskey Shop: They stock Munich’s best selection of common and rare whiskeys from both Scotland and Ireland. (Rindermarkt 16, Tel. 26 51 18)

English Comedy Club: Rotating comedians from the English circuit put on hilarious shows at Substanz on the first Sunday of each month.(Ruppertstr. 28, Tel. 721 27 49 )

Shamrock Irish Pub: This is a great place to go for Guinness any night of the week, but the Irish Folk Session on Monday and Pub Quiz on Thursday are not to be missed. (Trautenwolfstr. 6, Tel. 33 10 81)

Kilians Dance Emporium: The Ceili Dance evening on the first Monday of the month is a great event for meeting fun people, listening to live Irish music, and learning traditional Irish set dancing. (Frauenplatz 11, Tel. 24 21 98 99)

Restaurant Wiesengrund: This is a small restaurant, but with tasty food and a suprisingly good beer and wine selection. The friendly staff always gives diners the feeling of being personally attended to. (Elsässerstr. 22, Tel. 448 94 50)
